At the Mike Mandel Hypnosis Academy, we welcome guest trainers from all over the world.
Recently, we had the pleasure of receiving our friend and very well-known world-class hypnosis trainer Igor Ledochowski, which we talked about over on our Youtube channel.
It was AWESOME!
Igor's class was all about something called Hypnotic Gifts, which he described as the natural evolution of street hypnosis and the perfect way to practice hypnosis while giving your subjects an intensely positive experience.
It's brilliant because the framing of the Hypnotic Gift is something beneficial for your subjects. The quick hypnosis session makes it a real gift. They're fully aligned with you because you're giving them something worthwhile, and there's no resistance on their part because they WANT to have this experience that they are generating.
Igor taught us to use positive, ego-strengthening direct suggestions to give the subject a hypnotic experience that will brighten their day. It's perfect for ending an entertainment hypnosis session on a high note. Even if nothing else worked, the subject will still come out of the trance feeling refreshed and transformed.
Imagine vs. Pretend
We liked how Igor distinguished between his use of the words "imagine" and "pretend."
We teach that you can use these words synonymously because they'll create an internal representation of something. That's true, but Igor went on further and explained how to put them together and tell subjects to vividly imagine something is happening and then pretend that is the case.
"Imagine" is passive, and "pretend" is more active, so putting them together has immense power. We learned to quickly incorporate these words into the AS IF frame to develop new skills. So we can imagine something we desire, pretend it's true, and pretend we're not pretending anymore.
