Five Fun Hypnotic Language Patterns

What if you could use hypnosis secretly? Would you like to know covert hypnosis techniques that you can use without anyone realizing?

Hypnosis isn’t always what you think. In this post and accompanying video, we’ll teach you hypnosis, but not the kind you see on stage or in a hypnotherapist’s office. It’s the kind that's happening all the time, in every conversation you have. Hypnosis is everywhere, and understanding this can seriously up your communication skills.

Every conversation you have contains elements of hypnosis. It’s like breathing; you’re doing it all the time without even realizing it. Hypnotic conversation has many aspects to it, but in this post we’ll address the language of influence. It’s how you can open someone's mind to new possibilities, guide their thoughts, and even persuade them to see things your way. Pretty powerful stuff, right?

Let’s go over some awesome hypnotic language patterns that you can use in your everyday life. These patterns can make your conversations more engaging, persuasive, and just plain fun. So, keep reading – you’re about to learn some really neat tricks to take your communication skills up a notch!

Understanding Hypnotic Communication

Like we said, hypnosis is happening all the time, that means we can use it intentionally to make our conversations more impactful. Understanding hypnotic language patterns enables you to connect with people on a deeper level, persuade them effortlessly, and make your conversations more engaging. They’re awesome techniques that make your speech more effective and your interactions more meaningful. Let’s dive in!

Hypnotic Language Patterns

Now let’s get to the good stuff. These hypnotic language patterns are your secret tools you can use to make your conversations more persuasive and engaging. Once you start using these, you'll see just how powerful they can be. So, here are five awesome patterns to get you started.

#1: "I only want you to..."

This one is brilliant. When you say "I only want you to," it makes your request seem super simple and easy. It reduces resistance because it sounds like you're asking for almost nothing. You might say, "I only want you to help me for a few minutes." Before you know it, those few minutes turn into an hour, but it seemed like no big deal at the start. Or you might say, "I only want you to read this article," which makes it seem like a small ask, even if the article is lengthy. The key here is that the word "only" makes the request feel minimal and non-intrusive.

#2: "I wonder if..."

This pattern is all about curiosity. When you say, "I wonder if," it removes any pressure or resistance because you're not telling someone what to do; you’re just wondering. For instance, you could say, "I wonder if you'll find a reason to join me tonight." It’s a soft nudge that invites them to think about the possibility without feeling pushed. Or, "I wonder if you’ve ever thought about taking that vacation you always wanted." This makes the idea seem like an open possibility rather than a direct suggestion, making people more open to considering it.

#3: "A person may not know..."

This one is sneaky and effective. By saying, "A person may not know," you're not directly addressing the person, which helps them relax and lowers their defenses. For example, "A person may not know how much fun they can have at this party." It’s a way to introduce a thought without making them feel like you’re talking directly to them, which can make them more receptive. Or, "A person may not know how much they’ll enjoy taking up a new hobby," subtly encourages someone to think about experimenting with something new without feeling pressured.

#4: "You might have noticed..."

This pattern is great for opening up awareness. Saying, "You might have noticed," suggests that they’ve already observed something, which makes them more likely to accept it. For example, "You might have noticed how relaxed you are now that dinner has arrived." Or, "You might have noticed how much happier you feel when you spend time outdoors." This phrasing plants a seed of awareness and encourages them to reflect on their experiences in a positive light.

#5: "What happens when..."

This one is all about presupposition. When you say, "What happens when," you’re assuming something is going to happen, which makes the person think about the result. For instance, "What happens when you realize how lucky you are?" It’s not asking if they’ll realize it, but what will happen when they do. Or, "What happens when you start seeing the benefits of regular exercise?" This approach presupposes that the positive action is inevitable and prompts the person to think about the good outcomes that will follow.
