Show Notes for Episode 153
- Our new course on self hypnosis is now available
- Why was The Haunting so scary? Because it shows nothing! It's all in the imagination and the unconscious response...
- If you ever had a resource, it's still there and accessible!
- Meditation is a form of self-hypnosis...but all hypnosis is not meditation...
- Chanting, drumming, Zen koans, story telling, all produce trance...
- We can make all sorts of change through self-hypnosis!
- But...self-hypnosis will not change physical reality...
- All hypnosis is to some degree self-hypnosis...
- Practice makes perfect! Even in self-hypnosis...
- Ecology first! Always check with your doctor before doing any of this stuff...
- You can't use self-hypnosis instead of exercising! It's complementary...
- Remember Garry Coles? He uses hypnosis with oncologists...
- Remedial change is fixing things. Generative change is improving things you already do well, or creating new skills!
- What do you want? or What would you like to have happen?
- Frame it in the positive, instead of the negative, because the negatives form an infinite list! Make sure it's achievable too within a reasonable time frame...
- 20 to 30 minutes is long enough for all kinds of things...
- We know you aren't asleep, so don't write to correct us for saying "awaken"!
- Will you be tired and ready for bed, or alert and ready for anything?
- Set up a good environment...make it brain nourishing...
- Dark or bright? Lying down, or sitting upright in a chair?
- Be ready for disturbances...phone, neighbours, emergencies, etc.
- Self-hypnosis that is routined will work well - Same time, same place...
- Don't do self-hypnosis right before bed (unless you're using it to sleep)
- The Pixel Induction is awesome! Notice the pixels...feel the catalepsy!
- Once in trance, it's time to do the change work...
- An induction opens the door for whatever is next...that's right...
Tonight! On the 5,000 year old Wizard Network
The Lawn Tree Blooms!
- Breathe in a powerful resource! Confidence, Power, Endurance, etc.
- What's the colour of the resource? That's the one you go with...
- Breathe it in, and send it through your entire being...
- Then come out of trance...open your eyes...gently stretch...come back.
- This can be done in just a few minutes!
- Once you're experienced, you can even skip the induction completely!
- BONUS! Stanley Fisher PhD talked about 90 second self-hypnosis! Do it every hour or so, through the day...
